Home is more than just your house – after all, what is the Earth if not our home? It’s an important fact to keep in mind when renovating. Just like you’d want your neighborhood to stay clean and well-maintained, ensuring that the environment is considered in your renovation plans is just as important. As a pioneer in the green building and renovation industry, that’s something we believe in at Bradco Kitchen and Bath. That’s why our custom cabinetry is FSC certified, and why we’re a member of the US Green Building Council.
Check out some of these great benefits to choosing Bradco’s FSC certified cabinets for your renovation project:
No Toxic Fumes: Formaldehyde is a key component in many conventional adhesives, and many finishes release VOCs, or volatile organic compounds, as toxic gas. These chemicals get released into the air of your home and greatly reduce air quality. Even worse, since they’re most commonly found in chemicals used on your cabinets, the highest concentration of these fumes will be in the kitchen, a seldom unoccupied part of the home. Bradco uses soy-based adhesives instead, which is both more sustainable, and has no harmful side effects.
Sustainably-Sourced Wood: Since Bradco’s cabinets are all certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, the woods used in their construction are all sustainably sourced. Supporting management-intensive lumber sources not only protects old-growth forests from being chopped down, but also ensures that even more trees are planted to make up for the ones that are harvested.
Handcrafted and Low-Emission: Bradco’s manufacturing plant is semi-automated, focusing more on hand-crafting wherever possible. Not only does this mean that your cabinets are custom-made by expert craftsmen, it also means lower emissions, since there’s much less machinery than is normally found in a cabinet manufacturing plant. Each piece given more attention and care, and also has a smaller carbon footprint.
