Feb/ March 2013 – Bradco Kitchens & Baths created its Slide N Hide – an expandable kitchen island with a hidden cooktop. The Silestone quartz counter slides over to reveal the induction cooktop and a pop-up downdraft vent. It’s a space-efficient solution for creating additional counter space.
January 2013 – Imagine a mashup of Jetsons Technology and Mad Men-ish sleek design. With the touch of a button, the remote-controlled, motorized kitchen countertop slides open to reveal a cooktop and downdraft while extending into a free-hanging bar top. Custom-made by Bradco Kitchens + Baths in LA – the firm recently partnered with Sur La Table to provide custom cabinetry in its professional teaching kitchens nationwide – the Slide N Hide retails for $ 29,000 installed and $ 22,000 without installation (neither price includes the cost of any appliances). The auditorium was standing room only, as the winners were announced live by hosts Cindy Allen, Editor in Chief, and Mark Strauss, President and Publisher. (designers and manufacturers) gathered at the state of the art auditorium and event space at 200 West Street in New York City, to celebrate the best projects and products of 2012.
Bradco Kitchens and Baths is proud to have been named an honoree for Best of Year 2012 by Interior Design Magazine at this event. The award was for Bradco’s innovative product the Slide N Hide countertop.
The Slide N Hide is a custom remote controlled sliding countertop that slides to reveal a cooktop and downdraft while transforming into a free-hanging bar top perfect for dinner or drinks. It is an expandable kitchen island with a hidden cooktop that when closed serves as a countertop and when opened adds seating/table room.
Interior designers and architects via an online vote on October 1-9 – from 660 submissions – selected Best of Year Product Design finalists. A jury of leading architects and designers determined winners.
InteriorDesign.net “Best of Year” voting site received approximately 26,000 unique visitors during voting, generating 86,000 votes in 2012.

November 2012 – Bradco Kitchens & Baths has introduced the Slide N Hide counter system, left, a kitchen island with a hidden cooktop. Available in stainless steel, butcher block, and other materials, the counter slides over the cooktop, creating a seamless surface perfect for entertaining (bradcokitchen.com).
October 2012 – At Dwell on Design inLos Angeles, visitors were surprised to see a countertop in one kitchen slide sideways to reveal a Miele cooktop and downdraft. Created by Bradco Kitchens and Baths, this remote-controlled, motorized countertop is getting lots of kudos as one of the best from this show.

September 2012 – Bradco’s Slide N Hide is a remote-controlled sliding countertop. When extended, it provides an additional 4 ft. of counter space and, when closed, minimizes visual clutter in the kitchen by concealing the cooktop. Available with a variety of cooktop brands, the countertop can be specified in a wide array of materials, including stainless steel, butcher block and natural stone.
August 2, 2012 – Los Angeles, CA — Bradco Kitchens + Baths announces its partnership with culinary retail store Sur La Table.
