Bradco Kitchens and Baths @ Dwell on Design 2012

Last weekend the Dwell on Design 2012 expo commenced in Downtown Los Angeles. DOD is the annual showcase where modern designs and designers converge to show off the latest furniture, concepts and aesthetics for the progressive kitchen, garden and home. Bradco has participated in years past but this year it was time to do something special make a splash!

Bradco’s Design + Build concept, The “Slide N Hide” Countertop was a huge hit with designers, manufacturers and consumers. For the modern homeowner who desires space efficient design mixed with the latest kitchen tech innovations, look no further then this fantastic concept. Many in the design world took notice as we have received some fantastic and much appreciated acknowledgement from Skimbaco, Electronic House and Cultivate to name a few.

Home Furnishings mentioned, “The Slide N Hide is a terrific piece I saw in action at Dwell on Design, moving smoothly to cover the cooktop and render that space usable for serving and entertaining as well. At the show, Bradco cleverly paired the counter with the Miele telescopic downdraft proving how very efficient a kitchen can be by first retracting the downdraft and then covering the entire range area with the counter.”

A special thanks to our partners, Cosentino, manufacturers of SileStone Countertops, Columbia Forest Products, makers of PureBond the zero ureaformaldehyde plywood used in our cabinets and Dwell.

Dwell on Design 2012 – A Photo ReCap by Bradco Kitchens and Baths

Anyone who has ever worked a trade show can relate to the hustle and pace of trying to answer many intrigued patrons in such a short time! This aside, the staff at Bradco is passionate about design, and Dwell is the the place to be to inspired! Sneaking away from our booth to check out what other designers and artists were bringing to DOD was a must do. During the little downtime that we had, we managed to walk around and snap some shots of things that really caught our eye. Our gallery features an eclectic mix of designers and brands that comprised this wonderful event.

Some of our highlights include: Emeco‘s Broom chairs, lighting fixtures by Björn Rust, Fleetwood‘s beautiful array of sliding glass doors, the green materials by Geami, colorful space dividers by Ecor, wallcoverings by astek inc., unique fireplaces by MODFIRE, Josh Herman ceramics, and so much more!

You can share some of our favorites from this years DOD from our Pinterest Boards!

As seen on Angie’s List…

We used Bradco Kitchens + Baths to do a remodel of a kitchen with appliances.

The same owner is there but there are some different people there. They did a wonderful job. The work was fine and they worked within my budget which was really nice. Instead of replacing cabinets they did a reface and they did a very fine job. It is top notch. Their pricing and quality were very good. The fellow we worked with was extremely helpful. We wanted to use them again for a different remodel of the house but they would not come out unless they charged us money upfront. It was $2,000. We did it with the kitchen and didn’t have a problem with that but my husband wasn’t sure who he wanted to work with this time so that held us off.

Sleek Minimalistic Kitchen Design: Slide N Hide Counter top

June 26, 2012 – This moving counter top looks amazing! The Slide N Hide kitchen counter top was designed by Bradco Kitchens and Baths, and they launched it at this year’s Dwell On Design exhibition. This sleek, remote controlled, motorized sliding island counter top slides to reveal a Miele cooktop and downdraft, and it is one of the best modern solutions for kitchens that I’ve seen for a while. You can truly get the minimalistic look by hiding the stove top – or alternatively you gain counter space by sliding the table top off the stove creating a bar area.

Bradco Featured on PureBond Fabricator Network

We are pleased to announce that Bradco Kitchen and Bath has been selected as the featured PureBond® Fabricator Network member of the month for June! We are proud to be one of the first stores ever to work with PureBond®, the original cost-competitive decorative hardwood plywood without the formaldehyde. PureBond® is Columbia Forest Products’ exclusive formaldehyde-free innovation for hardwood plywood manufacturing.

Replacing traditional urea formaldehyde (UF) hardwood plywood construction with non-toxic, soy-based PureBond enables Columbia to eliminate any added formaldehyde from standard veneer-core and non-UF composite hardwood plywood core panels. That’s great news for our employees, our customers and the air we all breathe.

Not only do we want to offer our customers healthy options, but leading by example is important to us as well.  That’s why we have chosen to work with PureBond® hardwood plywood and are certified by The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

We are very passionate about removing Formaldehyde from the kitchen.  As we strive to continue our environmental-friendly work by using the cleanest products possible,  PureBond®, a formaldehyde-free manufacturing system designed by Columbia Forest Products, remains at the top of our list.
